Read all About it!

Clubs are such a great way to cultivate community, connection, and consistency..three things that I valued so much in childhood and still value today. My idea for these clubs comes from my experience of taking art classes in high school and college. There's something so positive about working on art with fellow students at the same time every week. Not only is it enriching to see others develop a body of work and technique but it also creates structure for a consistent practice in cultivating creativity.

I've also found that even though zoom doesn't compare to the real thing, it still allows for friendship and connection to develop after a few meetings. I've so enjoyed getting to know students and talking about the weather and pets and summer activities while teaching art over zoom!

Name: Geneviève (Jon-V-ev)

Age: 29 going on 30

Education: Bachelor of Fine Arts from Pepperdine University

Favorite Medium: right now it’s a close tie between polymer clay and gouache

Pets: Lavender the Rex Rabbit

Experience: My diverse career as an artist and educator has allowed me to develop my own teaching style and learning portal. I love working with children, and draw upon my experience, insight, and artistry to support students in their unique creative practice and expression. Over the years I have seen an increase in confidence, empathy, and self esteem among my students. I have also  observed the positive impact that Art Education can have in regards to personal growth and character development.
