Jaq Hats
Hand-knit, sewn, and painted, Jaq Hats are more than your average accessory. Each piece is part of a collaborative effort to spread warmth and art throughout the world in a truly unique fashion. We work with artists to create original 2x2" paintings that function as the label of our hats. Our vision is to give these hats to children in need and utilize sponsorship proceeds for art education and youth empowerment. Jaq Hats connect the little pieces of our lives to create a better world in a small (but cozy) way.

Warm Colors
'Warm Colors' is an ongoing photo-series that documents the destination of each Jaq Hat. This is especially important for connecting our sponsors and artists with recipients. In general, it's a place to share bombshell selfies. The Warm colors exhibit begins in Vrindavan, India where LJ founder, Genevieve, teaches art to a gang of kids who sell flowers by a holy river (aka The Yamuna Larkis). Know another place with cold winters? Plan your own warm colors expedition and take pictures as you distribute hats. The LJ team is ready to help you promote and fundraise so can spread the coziness. If you feel inspired by this project and want to get involved, send us an email with your ideas or donate today.

'My purpose as an artist is to interpret and express the rich traffic of thought, emotion and ideas that are constantly flowing through my mind. Sometimes this expression will include factors that constitute a threat to life as we know it. I do this to highlight the contrast between constructive and destructive human behavior, which is usually at the cost of our planet. I am of the belief that art is a huge pillar within the framework of global conscience.'

It's called 'Lavender Jaq' because when I met the Yamuna Kids I used to call my Grammie, Jacqueline, on the phone and tell her all about them. Her favorite color was Lavender so I named this project in her memory. My other grandma, Inga, knits a hat every day, so we collaborated to make 'Jaq Hats'.
Proceeds from Lavender Jaq go towards art education for children and the dream to inspire creativity, beauty, and simple happiness in our cross-cultural communities.
